About the Irvine Club

The Irvine Club was formed in 2004 as a means to enhance & create relationships with our mates and our mates mates.  The goal of the Irvine Club is to bring together friends in a social environment to share their love of sport as well as generating funds and exposure to local charities where we can make a real difference.  We are a not for profit club originally set up to run two invitation only Melbourne lunches a year which has now expanded to include a mid year Sydney Lunch.

The Irvine Club name originated in honor of Mr Jock Irvine.  Jock captured our imagination when he held the position of 12th man for the Australian cricket team in all tests for the the tour of India & South Africa in 1969/70.  Jock is famously recognised at the Irvine Club as one of the very few Australian cricketers to be the 12th man for our great country, but never play a test match !

The main emphasis on Irvine Club is that we, like Jock, have had sporting aspirations and ambitions that we did not quite fulfil, despite the tall tales we may otherwise tell.

The Irvine Club has raised in excess of $1,000,000, proudly supporting charities such as Beyond Blue, Interplast, The Lighthouse Foundation, Cure for Life Foundation, Spinal Cord Society of Australia, Let's Beat Bowel Cancer Foundation, Reclink, Yooralla Foundation, Kids Foundation, Footpath Library, James McCready Bryan Foundation, Zaideeā€™s Rainbow Foundation, Heartkids, Brainlink, Save our Sons, Challenge, Heartwell, Life's Little Treasures, Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopters, LifeAgain, Windermere Child & Family Services, KidsXPress, Shine, The John MacLean Foundation, Kind Cuts for Kids, Sport and Tourism Youth Foundation, The Lord Taverners Vic, and The Will Murray Foundation. We are extremely proud of what the Irvine Club now represents which is mateship, enhancing our personal & professional network and embracing organisations that assist those less fortunate.

Speakers at previous Irvine lunches have included the likes of Robert Murphy, Luke Beveridge, Kim Hughes, Mark Ella, Dr Turf, Peter Moody, John MacLean, Kerry O'Keefe, Damien Fleming, Mark Bosnich, Sterling Mortlock, Sam Newman, Rex Hunt, David "Bumble" Lloyd, Sir Ian Botham, Nathan Sharpe, Rod Kafer, Matt Cockbain, Nathan Grey, Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Richard Hadlee, Bill Lawry, Peter FitzSimons, Mark Geyer, Dermott Brereton, Billy Brownless, Jack Newton, Greg Ritchie, John Silvester, Robbie Slater, Kevin Muscat, Allan Border, Kevin Sheedy, Sam Kekovich, Steve Bradbury, Tim Watson, Rodney Hogg, Stan Alves, Tim Lane, Laurence Mooney, Neil Balme and Dave Grant.
