Testimonials

We are extremely proud of what the Irvine Club now represents which is mateship, enhancing our personal & professional network and embracing organisations supporting those less fortunate.

Below provides a snapshot of how the Irvine Club has helped the charities supported by the fundraising at some of our lunches.

    Ponting Foundation

Since the Ponting Foundation’s formation in 2008, we’ve had the privilege of working with some outstanding organisations that have greatly assisted our mission of helping young Australians and their families beat cancer. Without doubt, the Irvine Club has been one of the most dedicated and professional groups we have had the pleasure of partnering with and the results from the fundraising lunch held in November 2017 are testament to their work.

The lunch itself was an unforgettable event and we know that everyone at the Ponting Foundation has enjoyed the experience and friendships formed through the process.

Irvine Club members should be extremely proud of the difference they will make to families facing extraordinary circumstances. On behalf of the Ponting Foundation, you have our sincere gratitude.

    Will Murray Foundation

We were blown away by the incredible support that we received for Will from the Irvine Club and everyone involved who helped make last weeks lunch such a great success.

So many people gave up their valuable time and money to contribute to what was such an important day for Will. The funds raised were more than we could have imagined and will go a long way in supporting Wills ongoing rehabilitation which currently includes daily physical training at home, acupuncture, meditation, physiotherapy and two trips a week to the spinal cord rehab centre at the Whitten Oval.

All this would’t be possible without the help from events like the Irvine Club lunch so a huge thank you on behalf of Will and our family. You really helped to make a difference.

    Nick Murray (Nov 2016)

    KidsXpress

I thought perhaps you’d like to circulate to all the guys that were at the Irvine Club Charity Lunch a note from me so they know their generosity has sparked some great things in KidsXpress.

The money raised on the day helped over 6 children attend our world-first program; some have completed, some are in the program now and some will come next year. Many of those kids are the ones I placed on the tables that day; 12yr old Ben referred by his school counsellor. He lives with his Nanna now because his Dad is in jail and his Mum is in rehab. Elsie who is only 7yrs old watched her Mum overdose too many times and her psychologist told us about Elsie’s fear of the dark. And then there is Chloe who at the tender age of 10 was referred by her Foster Care Support Worker. She is moving into her fifth foster family and is desperately trying to figure out where she belongs. These are difficult stories to read and even more difficult to endure at this time of year – Christmas just isn’t a happy time for everyone but KidsXpress is providing as much support as possible thanks to your help.

None of this reflection or vision would ever be possible without the generosity, compassion, and kindness of people like yourselves and the men who were at the Irvine Club Charity Lunch. I wish for you all is that as this silly season consumes our diaries that you take a moment to remember the wonderful things you did to help others this year – you may not ever get to meet them in person but in spirit they know you did a huge amount to support those less fortunate than us when they needed it the most.

    Many thanks Gentlemen!

    Life Again

What a fantastic day we had with the Irvine Club Ashes luncheon in November 2013.

It was always going to be a special day because of the effort put into it by The Irvine Club. Their support to the Life Again Foundation was amazing, as was their attention to every little detail throughout the process.

Life Again talks about the power of giving and there is no greater example than this than the Irvine Club. We were honoured and proud to be selected by them as their Foundation of choice for the event.

The generous donation to our Charity makes me feel very humble. It allows Life Again to continue with its work of inspiring and connecting men through times of change. This includes seminars, workshops, travel with a purpose, giving, mentoring and enabling programs, and education beyond seminars and workshops.

We look forward to continuing our association with this important Club and its people.

    BrainLink

BrainLink Services Limited would like to offer sincere thanks for the wonderful and generous proceeds donated to the organisation from the Irvine Club May 2011 charity luncheon.

Any expectations were well and truly surpassed and the success of such a day is very much testament to the philosophy of great corporate citizenship and social responsibility by a group of enthusiastic gentlemen.

This year we have had a record number of people accessing our services and it never ceases to amaze me the number of people in the community who struggle without assistance.

It is our intention to seek as many of these people before they reach crisis point and offer them information and practical help to alleviate difficult situations. A significant number of families are so busy caring for someone with a neurological illness or brain disorder that they don’t have the time or energy to seek practical help, financial assistance or a much needed break from their caring role.

In the last 12 months BrainLink  has been able to take carers away, people with Brain Disorders away and a combination of both to holiday places where for at least three days everything is done for them and all that is required is for them to enjoy themselves and relax and let someone else do the work and take responsibility.

None of this is possible without your help and again you have provided much need resources to ensure the work we do continues.

Recently we were able to take a group of 20 male carers to Heritage Golf Course for a social day of golf and lunch and just being men together enjoying each other’s company. Many had not played golf for 20 years or so because they were busy caring for a wife or adult child with a brain disorder. I cannot explain the value these men got from a day like this and one said, “That if he didn’t spend a day like this for another 20 years, the enjoyment of this day would carry him for many years to come”.

BrainLink received $41,000 from Irvine club
which will be used as part of BrainLink’s approach to more effective communication with families and to ensure they access Brainlink’s services in a timely manner.

BrainLink will provide a new dedicated Acquired Brain Disorder
    (Acquired Brain Injury)

Crisis Response Liaison to be stationed predominately in the neurological ward of a Royal Melbourne hospital. The Liaison’s role will be to provide personal face-to-face contact to those diagnosed with ABI and their families. The aim of this exciting new role will be promoting a faster recovery and transition to the community, maximising independence and improving the health and well-being of a person diagnosed with ABI and their family.

Once again BrainLink’s truly appreciates the generosity of the Irvine club for providing us the opportunity to be part of such a day and the chance to work collaboratively with a wonderful group of people and especially for the generous funds donated to the organisation on completion.

BrainLink take seriously the responsibility of spending such funds so as to effect maximum support and benefit to those most in need. We would be happy to provide an update on the project in the future.

    Good luck with future events.

    Yours sincerely

    Heartwell Foundation

As a very small, community based program offering physical education/rehabilitation to children with special needs, we cannot thank enough the Irvine Club and it’s President, Committee and members for their wonderful support.

We were extremely fortunate to be the beneficiaries of Irvine’s November 2012 Luncheon which raised funds for our program and will go an enormous way to assisting kids with serious disabilities and health needs.

    W
e rely heavily on corporate and philanthropic support for our programs and of late this has been very difficult to obtain due to tough economic times.  The Irvine Club with its philosophy to assist smaller organisations and causes is a wonderful boon to programs like ours who battle on a daily basis for funding.

    N
ot only was the luncheon a fantastic financial windfall for us, the day was a great experience in being well organised and terrific fun.  The efforts of all the committee in helping out behind the scenes and with little fanfare, but with a common goal of achieving the best possible result for Heartwell cannot be understated.

    I
sincerely thank all those at Irvine and wish them continued success in the great work that they do in assisting grass roots organisation like Heartwell.

Keep up the fantastic work it is very much appreciated!

    Challenge

I would firstly like to thank you for selecting Challenge to be the chosen charity of your mid-year luncheon. It was an honour to be involved with such a prestigious event and I felt privileged to be able to come and speak to your group. I hope the information I shared with you was informative and you were able to gain more insight into what Challenge is all about.

2012 has been a consolidating year as we embarked on some new challenges for the organisation. The Challenge Family Centre was launched in November 2011 and is a place where children living with cancer and their families can access an extensive range of non-medical support services including playgroup, music therapy, massage therapy and a resource library. The Centre is the first of its kind in Australia providing services in a single location and underpins everything we do.

In addition to our already comprehensive program and services, we are now looking at repositioning the organisation and delivering to the wider community effected by children diagnosed with cancer, in particular, grandparents, extended facility and close friends.

I would like to thank you for your very generous donation to our organisation. The monies you have donated will make a huge difference to the lives of the many children and families we support.

    Yours sincerely
    David Rogers
    Chief Executive Officer
